Translation: On The C-E Translation Of A Very Short View Of Chinese Taxation From The Perspective Of Semantic And Communicative Translation

Tax is the most important source of fiscal revenue for the Government of China, which not only plays an important role in China?s economic and social development but is closely related with the interests of every enterprise and citizen. Besides, with the economic development and further opening to the outside world, China?s tax system continues to attract attentions both at home and abroad. In order to help readers quickly understand the current tax system in China, “A Very Short View of Chinese Taxation” is chosen as C-E translation practice.Based on Peter Newmark?s semantic and communicative translation as well as the general characteristics of economic texts, this paper, in the example of A Very Short View Of Chinese Taxation, conducts a study on the C-E translation of tax-related texts in terms of words, titles, sentences and discourse by comparison between Chinese and English taxation, in hope of providing certain reference to translation of similar texts and improving its quality.
