None of the progress, that the early motion picture technique had got, was not to allow more audiences to watch movies, had better experiences and got a sense of aesthetic. From the emergence of film, the projection, cinema and audience have been doomed to be irreplaceable parts of movies. In 1920s, it became a marketing tragedy for production companies and cinemas to make stars perform on the stage. This fashionable way of publicity not only allows the early Chinese movie to say goodbye to the period of depending on others but also creates a new situation for the localization of Chinese movie projection. Therefore, there came the star-age and the booming of movie projection. The perfect combination of the star effect and the movie projection wins more national audiences for early Chinese movies. And it also plays a vital role in preventing American movies’impact on projection market, promoting the movie development during warship and prospering the waking and recovery of movies after wartime.Put the development of early Chinese movie projection as the breakthrough point, this paper will discuss and analyze the effect and significance caused by the combination of early movie projection and star effect. Through observing stars’undertaking and interpretation of the movie roles in movie projection, the market operating and commercial value of early Chinese movie stars can be seen. As a result, the whole development frame of early Chinese movies based on stars and projection market can be observed. And the thinking and discussion are developed on the early movie projection and star effect.
