| The Regong Tangka is a wonderful flower of Tibetan Buddhism. With full composition, gorgeous color, beautiful lines, dense pattern, it is a kind of mature religious painting art. Basing on the study of Thangka works appreciation and consulting lots of related references, the characteristics of the Regong Tang Ka art are discussed deeply. This paper first introduced emergence and development of Thangka, and then compared Regong Thangka art with Tibet Thangka art, finally summarized the artistic characteristics of the Regong Tang Ka art in composition, color, lines and patterns. Commonly, the compositions of Thangkas are Chinese, parallel, loose etc. Inheriting the composition characteristics of Tibet Thangka, the Regong Thangka took the two-dimensional full composition as the basic composition. In colors, Regong Thangka with its bright color is different from Tibet Thangka whose color is quietly elegant, because they were not only affected by the geographical location and humanistic factors, but also affected by extracting and matching rules, ore plant pigment dyeing techniques etc. Regong Thangka paid more attention to the use of lines than Tibet Thangka, especially the use of gold lines, which brought the Regong Thangka with the magnificent color characteristic. Because of the absorption of Chinese culture, the Regong Thangka in the pattern besides " The Eight Auspicious Symbols " of Tibetan Buddhism, presented some Chinese traditional pattern too.Regong Thangka art as a kind of intangible cultural heritage, its value is not only a carrier of Tibetan Buddhism, but also a fusion body of art, culture, aesthetics and practicality, whose mapping techniques, cultural heritage, aesthetic value, and even Mounting Technique and hanging were worthy of our exploration and research. Through the research of the Regong Thangka art, we could understand the art better, and the research must promote the inheritance and development of Thangka art further. |
