Along with the Chinese as a foreign language professional course of the establishment and further development of the research of teaching Chinese as a foreign language(TCFL), there have been several words TCFL: “ci-centered” teaching method, “zi-centered” teaching method and morpheme teaching method. These three teaching methods, “ci-centered” teaching method occupy the mainstream of TCFL profession, it’s more familiar for us, but the other two teaching methods, especially for “zi-centered” teaching method, there have different opinions, different understandings, and even many people misunderstand, in many studies often confuse with Xu Tongqiang’s “zi-centered”theory, Jo?l Bellassen’s “zi-centered”teaching method, morpheme teaching method. Therefore, this paper describes “zi-centered” teaching method from the start, and the representative of “zi-centered” teaching method is Jo?l Bellassen. To highlight Jo?l Bellassen, and in order to separate Jo?l Bellassen’s “zi-centered” teaching method from other areas, other style “zi-centered” teaching method, this paper used Shi Yisha(2012) proposed “French zi-centered” teaching method, specifically refers to Jo?l Bellassen’s “zi-centered” teaching method, while other areas, other styles, such as “zi-centered” teaching method base on Xu Tongqiang’s “zi-centered”theory, this paper used “general zi-centered” teaching method.This paper describes “French zi-centered” teaching method’s basic ideas, theory and other aspects first, and contrast it with “general zi-centered” teaching method, “ci-centered” teaching method, morpheme teaching method. We believe that the “general zi-centered” teaching method and morpheme teaching method is actually borrowed from “French zi-centered” teaching method at the core of the teaching methods, they can be combined and collectively referred to as “French zi-centered” teaching method. In this paper, we define like that: “French zi-centered” teaching method can be called “zi-centered” teaching method for short, this teaching method is from Jo?l Bellassen, he recognized the disadvantage of “ci-centered” teaching method and the importance of “zi” in the process of TCFL, so he pay more attention to make use of the characteristics and rules of “zi” under the condition of negative “ci-centered” teaching method, using the “snowball” means of “core-zi” to compose and expand vocabulary, phrase, sentence. This teaching method uses “zi” as the teaching unit, it pays attention to listening, speaking, reading and writing all comprehensive development. “French zi-centered” teaching method helps students to better grasp the Chinese, so the study of TCFL in the future, we need continue to explore forward. But the current, “French zi-centered” teaching method can’t completely replace “ci-centered” teaching method, at present, we advocate the two combined, oral content uses “ci-centered” teaching method, characters uses “zi-centered” teaching method, namely Zhang Pengpeng’s <New Basic Chinese> teaching ideas.
