"JIE HUA" is a one of the Chinese traditional forms of painting. The theme of "JIE HUA" is mainly about pavilions and terraces. It involves a special painting technique by using ruler performed on silk papers or walls.This paper discusses three aspects of the artistic features from the performance characteristics, style characteristics and opportunities & implications of "JIE HUA". In the first chapter of this paper, the author analyzes the major characteristics of " JIE HUA" from three different aspects-style, color, and perspective. In chapter two, the author uses realistic and decorative approaches to show the unique artistic features of "JIE HUA" by analyzing ample of works from different periods. Additionally, the author conducts very thorough researches on the style, technique and theme of a few very famous works (as illustrated in the graph below). In chapter three, the author was trying to show the artistic charm of "JIE HUA" through analyzing people’s inspiration from traditional "JIE HUA" and current opportunities of" JIE HUA"’s development.To summarize, this paper conduct a very thorough discussion around the artistic features of "JIE HUA" by analyzing a large number of "JIE HUA" works and historical literatures. With the development of times, we learned that "JIE HUA" inspired artists to create other forms of Chinese painting, so we should always be hungry and open to new researches and revolutionary discoveries. The author hopes this paper would inspire more and more artists and art connoisseurs to get to know more about "JIE HUA", and the author wants make her own contribution in "JIE HUA"’s global development.
