The easiest way of understanding the world is always around us, and human body is the basis for us to learn about the world, which opens a window for us to learn about the world. The word of human body seems to be simple, but actually, it is quite complicated. In the sixth edition of Modern Chinese Dictionary, there are 13 kinds of meaning of "head", but there is only one meaning the human organ, while others follow certain rules of metaphor. The metaphor is a significant thinking mode for us to learn about the unknown things with the existing things and experience, and the metaphor endows more abundant connotations and extension to the words of human body. In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, the study of metaphor rules of words of human body cannot only enrich the vocabulary, but also be favorable for students to learn about the metaphorical thinking of Chinese people.In this paper, several words of human body with strong word-formation ability, including head, face, mouth, and eyes, are taken as the research object, for discussing the metaphorical meaning and teaching application of the words of human body. It is discovered in the research that the metaphorical meaning of these words have rules to follow, and these rules can be summarized into the following five categories, including the similarity in shape, similarity in position and similarity in function, metonymy and metaphor. By learning about these rules, students may be improved in the ability of guessing the meaning. Consequently, this paper aims to categorize these vocabularies, and the rules of each type of metaphor are analyzed in detail. Moreover, some strategies applicable for the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language are discussed.1. Associative thinking, spiral review; 2. Increasing the contents of Chinese culture in vocabulary teaching; 3. Introducing the cross-culture comparison consciously; It is hoped that these strategies can teaching examples can be helpful for the vocabulary teaching.
