The basic definition of worldview is people’s view toward to the world and their fundamental perspective. It is not a single concept but a belief system. In animation creation, worldview can be artificially set, which is part of preliminary animation screenwriter. The setting of worldview in animation is a recapitulative assumption, including time, space, ethnic groups, value systems and other elements that consist of a belief system. It is the support structure of the whole animation, also the audience’s perception premise of the dummy world in animation. The setting of worldview will determine the success of the whole animation. Chinese mythology itself has a unique worldview system, containing unique Chinese national spirit; thereby the application of Chinese mythological elements in the setting of worldview in modern animation is conducive to traditional Chinese cultural heritage, making the animation of more ethnic characteristics. Therefore, the research purpose of this paper is to improve the inadequate theory setting of animation worldview in China, and promote "nationalization" development of Chinese animation through study and analysis of application of Chinese mythology elements.The introduction firstly narrates the research background and significance, research content, domestic and foreign research status and innovations. The second chapter introduces concepts and elements of Chinese mythology. The third chapter discusses the definition, elements, ways of thinking and working processes of animation worldview. The fourth chapter discusses Chinese mythology elements application in four components of animation worldview. The fifth chapter studies the case Chinese animation masterpiece of “Kui Ba” that successfully sets worldview in animation. The sixth chapter presents the inadequacies in setting worldview in Chinese animation. The seventh chapter proposes due inherit tradition and innovation of worldview setting in modern animation based on Chinese mythology.
