A group of “X jin”, which may be both words and phrases, exists on the synchronic plane of modern Chinese. This group of “X jin” has often been supposed to be in a state of lexicalization. This paper means to initiate a research of this kind of phenomenon. Firstly, we must find out all of these “X jin”, which probably are in the process of lexicalization. Secondly, we put a detailed investigation on every single “X jin”, and analyze their both semantic and syntactic characteristics. At last, we will come up with a series of rules to distinguish the different forms of “X jin”.The first part of this paper is the Introduction, which pointed out that “X jin” is a series of language unit sequence which may be worth being researched on the aspect of synchronic lexicalization, and introduced the main relevant research results home and abroad. The second part of this paper did more detailed work on “X jin”, and finally nailed down the object that we were going to research on.The third part of this paper selected the very representative of “X jin”, “gen jin”,respectively discussing the semantic and syntactic functions of the word “gen jin” andthe phrase “gen jin”, which can be distinguished by the rules that we came up with. The fourth part of this paper selected the very representative of “X jin”, “mai jin”, respectively discussing the semantic and syntactic functions of the word “mai jin” and the phrase “mai jin”, which can be distinguished by the rules that we came up with. The fifth part of this paper selected the very representative of “X jin”, “tui jin”, respectively discussing the semantic and syntactic functions of the word “tui jin” and the phrase “tui jin”, which can be distinguished by the rules that we came up with. The sixth part of this paper selected the very representative of “X jin”, “yue jin”, respectively discussing the semantic and syntactic functions of the word “yue jin” and the phrase “yue jin”, which can be distinguished by the rules that we came up with. The seventh part of this paper made a summary of all above content, and come up with the inadequacies for reference.
