Abstract/Summary:
In Western Han Dynasty, the Huns, a minority ethnic regiment in northern China, was formed confrontation against the Central Plains Dynasty. With the development of the relationship between the Han Chinese and the Huns, the latter surrendered to Han Dynasty continually, typical events of which were that Prince Hun surrendered to Han, Chief Hunye led his troops and civilians yielded to Han government, Chief Hu hanye submitted to the central government so on and so forth. The root of such events originated in history. By analyzing Huns regimes from Chief Modu unifying the northern grassland to submissive events during Chief Wuzhu Liuruodi’s rulership, four distinct periods can be generalized in order to illustrate this historical phenomenon from a comprehensive facet. This thesis makes an experimental analysis of the roots for the Hun’s submission to Han from economic, political, cultural and psychological aspects, plus explores the influence of its submission on Han Dynasty and vise versa.In terms of Han Dynasty, the thesis expounds the benefits and influences on the central dynasty’s intelligence, military, diplomacy. While in light of the Huns, it elaborates the influence on the growth of the minority ethnic itself.
