A Study Of E-C Translation Of Children’s Literature From The Perspective Of Structural Objects Of Adaptability

The thesis discusses how the Chinese translation of children’s literature The Kohpan Crossing reflects one of the dimensions of the adaptation theory, i.e. Structural objects of adaptability. It approaches the issue from the phonetic, lexical, and syntactic levels. It points out that the translator of children’s literature should adapt the language structure of the translation to the source text dynamically. In light of children’s psychology, comprehension and aesthetics, the translator should translate in a way suited to children’s language features, thus faithfully conveying the style and the aesthetic feeling of the original. Only in this way will he produce more translations liked by the target reader.This thesis consists of five parts. The first part introduces the research background, research purpose and significance, the preparation that has been done. It also introduces the text having translated and its authors and the thesis structure. The second part is a literature review. The third part discusses the relevant concepts of adaptation theory. The fourth part discusses the translation of this text from the perspective of language structure adaptation. The last part is a conclusion.
