The monk Jiaoran,whose family name was Xie, was an famous Buddhist and poet in the mid-Tang.He was born in 720 in Changcheng country,Hu state and died between 793 to 798.He moved to the temple of Changgan in Jiangning country,Run state over Tianbao. the beginning year of Zhide,Jiaoran came back his hometown,Hu state and settled down for a long time.Jiaoran was famous for his poems when he was young, Eight years of Dali period,then Zhenqing Yan was the governer of the Hu state,who convened many intellectuals to compile Yun Hai Jing Yuan, Jiaoran was also invited to take part in this activity and made many friends by associating with different people In this process,this made him achieve greater reputation. So the emperor Dezong of Tang ordered officials to collect Jiaoran’s poems to the national library because of his good repution as a Buddhist and a poet. Consequently, His collection of poems and articles had been preserved by the governer of Hu state Yudi,what count to 546 pieces.The version of Jiaoran’s collection of poen has more than ten types,but the most similar version comparing to the oldest one is Zhou Shang Ren Ji of Si Bu Cong Kan. Throughout Jiaoran’s poems,perhaps he is not the best poetry,but he has his own style, especially as a Buddhist and a famous poetic theorist.His poems is very famous for fresh and natural and elegent.But we all ignored his poem’s study over significant periods of time,so the paper is trying to annotating Jiaoran’s poem and hoping it is helpful to Jiaoran’s research.
