China is known as formal state. In order to maintain social order and restrain people’s behavior,etiquette is formulated. Funeral etiquette act as an important part of the Confucian traditional, is also important in one’s life, which can express the respect for their ancestors, and quest for their own peace of their mind.Huizhou is named as" Southeast of the zou and lu", had been inheriting the Confucian etiquette, and maintaining the system of countries etiquette.Huizhou society’s inheritance on the Confucian culture throughout the whole development process.The endless power of Huizhou funeral inheritance is the inner guidance of Confucian culture and the vox populi control of local social.Among them,The Confucian traditional culture provides ideological basis and emotional support for inheritance of funeral etiquette, and local social consensus control of the public promote inheritance of funeral etiquette in Huizhou region to move forward.Funeral etiquette in Huizhou area during the Ming and the Qing Dynasties was inherited through a certain way, not only the national laws and regulations, but also Huizhou clan’s mandatory rules through the style of observation in funeral activities.Influence of the Buddhism and Taoism gradually expanded since the Song Dynasty, which also have deeply influence on the south of Anhui province. Popularity of the Buddhism and Taoism weakens the governing power of traditional Confucian cultures. With the ruling power of Confucian culture is being impaired, the change of Huizhou social economy and expansion of the rural power that limits the traditional custom, the Confucian culture, which regulates the operation of the Huizhou protocol is gradually being reformed. This is mainly performanced in two aspects:the evolution of Confucian funeral etiquette in Huizhou and the formation of Huizhou unique funeral etiquette.During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Confucian funeral culture take part of the changes in the Huizhou area in the south of AnHui province, these changes not only includes specific funeral rites but also burial ideas.The evolution of Huizhou funeral etiquette in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,not only for the change of the Confucian tradition funeral ceremony, but also includes some special etiquettes in huizhou, such as steal to bury, pick up the bone,.congratulate to grave, and so on.Although these changes small, but they also like a quiet undercurrent, impact the Confucian morality system, which was set up by the government,clans and elites of Huizhou region.Part of the huizhou clan members and squire elite influenced by Confucian culture, on the one hand, through their speeches strongly condemned and criticized the unreasonable evolution; on the other hand,The also take active measures to rescue, they want to change these unreasonable etiquette, and restore the orthodox Confucian etiquette.The funeral etiquettes defended tenaciously by Huizhou in the Ming and Qing Dynasties has some changes, but it still follows the ancient Confucian ritual in the mainstream. Huizhou funeral etiquette inherits the Confucian funeral throughout the whole process of Huizhou’s social development. Evolution coincides with inheritance, which is a major feature of Huizhou funeral etiquette changes.In this paper, taking Huizhou local history, genealogy as the basic materials of the research, plus a reference part of Huizhou documents and Huizhou essays.By unscrambling the historical materials, people can explores the inheritance and evolution of funeral etiquette in Huizhou in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
