The Research Of Foreign Words And Archaism In Qingdao Mandarin

Dialect is the’living fossil’of language. It is very helpful to understanding the heritage and innovation of language. Now, in the day of vigorously popularizing Mandarin, dialect is particularly special. So, more attention has been paid for the research and conservation of dialect. China is a country which has many kinds of dialect, so the best method of studying dialect is to start small.Qingdao Mandarin is part of Northern Mandarin, so it has most feature of Shandong Mandarin. But because of the special historical and cultural background, Qingdao Mandarin has been effected by other language and history. So it is unique, especially in vocabulary.’Foreign words’and’archaism’have their trajectory of development. It will be very helpful to improve the system of Chinese research, if we can collect and study these words as much as we can. Besides, we can also understand the evolution of Qingdao Mandarin, Shandong Mandarin and Northern Mandarin. I think it is very helpful to learn dialect history. If we have done a lot study on dialect of every area, it must be easier to learn’the development of dialect in whole.Some research methods have been used in this thesis, such as induction, quantitative analysis, comparative law and so on. In order to give the study a round display, I will analyze the evolution track, contents and effect of the vocabulary. However, due to the limitation of time and methods, it still has many shortcomings in the aspect of vocabulary collection. But I believe that this thesis has innovation in the study of Qingdao mandarin. I hope it can provide a reference to future research.
