Harry Potter, a series of seven fantasy novels, is the masterpiece of the famous British writer Joanne Kathleen Rowling. It has gained immense popularity and drawn great attention from literary researchers and critics around the world. The success of this work is closely related to Celtic culture as the carrier and the development of New Era Movement. Celtic culture, as the root of western literature, differs from traditional culture,but coincides with the essence of New Era Movement. With the influence of "Spectral Criticism", these two forces release enormous energy and make this work shine immortally. It can cure the spiritual crisis prevalent in modern society and also enrich cultural implications.With the methods of historical analysis, documentary analysis and close reading and from the perspective of Celtic culture, this paper attempts to make a deep interpretation of Harry Potter novel series, making the marginal Celtic culture in a dilemma reveal its charms again. This paper is divided into introduction, main body(three chapters), and conclusion. The introduction part introduces the life stories of Ms. Rowling,summarizes the main contents of the seven novels of Harry Potter series,and teases out the current status of text study at home and abroad. In the main body, the first chapter discusses Celtic sorcery culture, focuses on text,and enumerates the Celts, their religious beliefs, their historical traditions,and their folktales; the second chapter discusses the development of New Era Movement and the renaissance of Celtic culture, and also analyzes the development of New Era Movement and the impacts of the theory of "Spectral Criticism" over the re-enchantment of Celtic culture; with the purpose of curing modern people of the spiritual crisis in the name of love,the third chapter introduces the contemporary cultural implications of novels, elaborates on modern crisis and the meaning of seeking for cultural roots, and also explains the theory of literary treatment and its practice.The conclusion part reiterates the theme and summarizes the whole text.Through the framework of Celtic culture, Ms. Rowling’s novels of Harry Potter provide those obsessed with the pursuit of materials with an enclave for liberating their souls and imagination. Meanwhile, with the aid ofprimitive thinking, these novels enable modern people under the depression of patriarchy to liberate their souls.
