The colorful folk culture represented in these movies has impressed people greatly and showed people’s everyday life.several movies, such as the Yellow earth and Qiu Ju Gose to Court, described men’s living condition and had a considerable amount of reflection of the folk. Fifth Generation directors used a lot of folk elements in their films. These folk not only made the film exudes a flavor of life, but also increase the realism of the story. These folks have played an important role in depicted character, and deep the movie’s theme. In 2012, the sixth generation of directors, Wang Quan An directed a film called "White Deer Plain", This film in the country again set off a folk style. As a symbol of the spirit of the folk culture of the Chinese nation is spread all over the world by the western movies, the ancient Oriental art won the world’s acclaim.In this paper, I researched Shaanxi folk culture in the western films which from the new era. For three examples:"White Deer plain", "Yellow Earth", " Qiu Ju Goes to Court," These three films shot in different years for the case study. Classified the folks in this three films.
