Procrastination is increasingly prevalent in modern society and becoming life style for some people. Research on the nature of procrastination is controversial and scales of procrastination only cover some parts of its nature, which cause the intervention of procrastination is usually one-size-fits-all. So, first of all, our research focus on the nature of procrastination via qualitative research. Second, we establish the Procrastination Process Scale on the basis of qualitative research. Third, we cluster people into four groups through the median procedure of positive procrastination and negative procrastination to examine group differences on positive affect, negative affect and self-efficacy. In following research, we also dig into the mechanism of factors related with negative procrastination and the mechanism of the factors involved in negative procrastination. At last, we use data mining to analysis the tweets to know hot topics and whole picture of procrastination.The main results are elaborated as follows:(1) Procrastination is a complicated process which includes contents of cognition, emotion and behavior; (2) Procrastination Process Scale has good reliability and validity; (3) There is significant difference in negative affect and self-efficacy among the high-negative-low positive procrastination group, high-negative-high positive procrastination group and low-negative-high-positive procrastination group. (4)Maf and discrepancy partly mediated the relation between neuroticism and negative procrastination (5) Avoidance of difficulty is full mediated the relation between lack of intrinsic motivation and lake of organization and is also full mediated the relation between over-cautiousness and lack of organization; (6) Data mining indicates the hot topics of procrastination on twitter are clustered into five groups which include sleep, inefficiency, academic procrastination, the desperation to change and hesitation with negative affect.
