As the apotheosis of the Deconstruction camp, French thinker Jacques Derrida with his influence of philosophy on translation theory and practice should never be neglected. When compared with any other translation theories of the same time, Derrida’s Deconstruction Translatology probes into the very nature of translation from the level of language philosophy and gains unprecedented influence among Chinese academic circle of translation. It has not only created an earthquake in traditional translation theories, but also triggers a new train of thoughts in building a theoretical system of translation studies. By examining representative Chinese journal articles from 1995 to 2014 as the research object, this paper aims to sort out the development skeleton of the spread of Derrida’s deconstruction translation theory in context of Chinese translation studies during the last two decades, and accordingly sums up respective characteristics in three different research stages, namely, the stage of introduction(1995-1999), the stage of argument(2000-2007) and the stage of rational exploration(2008-2014); at the same time, the paper also tries to carry on a thorough discussion about four representative misinterpreted views of Derrida’s theory based on the literature analysis of Derrida himself, in hope to clarify the misreading and misunderstanding of related contents and to gain a more comprehensive and objective understanding of the real connotation of Derrida’s Deconstruction Translatology. Only in that way can we render proper evaluation of Derrida’s translation theory which has gained undeniable impact on the translation studies in China, and further promote the spread and development of deconstruction translation theories in China.
