“Self-closing” Writing Of Wang Xiaoni’s Poetry

Being fond of living and thinking at “home”, a private space, Wang Xiaoni is a poet, who can’t get along well with system of organization, and it would be her destiny. The close, quiet and individual plot provides her soul and thought with unique implications, notwithstanding only part free she gets here. “Self-closing” writing is just fit for her choice, and has be found through all of her poetry from the end of the eighties of the 20 th century. Although she has paid more attention on social criticism from the end of last century, it is “self-closing” writing that reflects the poet’s authentic thought that exists in her poetry all the time.Introducing the research status of Wang Xiaoni’s poetry with macro view, and pointing out the valuable research results and some drawbacks, the introduction of this thesis draws the “self-closing” writing of Wang Xiaoni, which is a unique way to open the poet’s heart with closed form.Beginning with the forming background of “self-closing” poetry, and revealing the social circumstances, life space, and poetry environment, the first chapter of this thesis shows the diachronic and synchronic factors with external concerns, relating with the poet’s “self-closing” writing. In the meanwhile, the poet’s psychological factors are paid attention to as well. This chapter introduces the process and the overview of her works from writing the sun to “evil”, until practicing “self-closing” writing.The second chapter is rooted in the poetry text, and analyses the “self-closing” poetry from reflecting the content of mind. The aesthetic values of Wang Xiaoni’s “self-closing” writing are widely opened in this chapter, what contemplates the poet’s self-investigation more than the requirement of others. By this means, this chapter includes the recognition of living with pain, the poetic thinking about seeing and being seen, the experience of blatant world in quiet, the analysis of self division and the view of meanings from paper and words.Attaching to the poetry discourse, the third chapter consists of examining minutely of the poet, the intuition of writing and daily writings, which are lead to by living space daily.“Self-closing” writing, not the whole practice of Wang Xiaoni, is explained in the conclusion. Simultaneously, it is she that states social sensitivity through writing widely. Therefore, the author is trying to educe another research route of Wang Xiaoni’s poetry by this.
