Literary study on Tie Ning and her creation is almost at the same time, the quantity is very considerable,<The Rose Door >is no exception. As a long masterpiece, it has also been researchered from many angles, including character, human nature, feminist studies, etc. This work shows the multiple theme, this article attempts to use the method of close reading to interpret it from the growth theme.In the introduction,this article combed a variety of concepts of bildungsroman in the domestic and foreign.The bildungsroman and the novel containing growth topic are compared. <The Rose Door > contains the growth topic, but it does not belong to the classical bildungsroman. The first chapter described Gu Ba, Si Yiwen and Su Mei.They have three growth patterns. Gu Ba lost her gender, and closed up herself.She doesn’t want to grow up; Si Yiwen watered herself as an evil flower lined by others and the social environment; Su Mei became successful trespass between three generations under the correct guidance of others.She went through sin and pain successfully. The second chapter discusses the growth ceremony in<The Rose Door >. The advent of menarche is a watershed if women go into mature age. Physical and mental growth of Su Mei develop at the same time, neck and neck. Si Yiwen changed her personality during sex and sex has become a ritual when she entered a new stage of life; Physical suffering accompanied by life feeling sometimes, baptism and sublimation of the soul is no exception. Completing of the body suffering marks a person’s growth. The third chapter discusses space about growth. Tie Ning describes a person how to grow difficultly in a society full of violent space; Entering one space from another space will expand a person’s field of vision, making the person produce complex psychological change, thus affecting people make different decisions, even the fate of turning point. The family space is divided into two parts, residence and family members. The size, shape and layout of residence will affect a mood, psychology. And the family members(this article mainly refers to the mother) as growth space also affects a person’s mentality journey.
