In the 1970s, a critical thinking movement which based in an educational reform and logic teaching reform has been launched in North America. Recent years critical thinking has been spread in China, more and more scholars began to pay attention and discuss the new term. However, in view of critical thinking as a way of thinking, there is no disciplinary boundaries, and it is involved in philosophy, pedagogic, psychology, medicine and other subjects, so its definition varies among different levels. Today, the prevailing one in China is the critical thinking expert Robert · Ennis’s definition of critical thinking that Critical thinking is reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do; therefore we need to make a more rigorous and feasible definition according to the ethos of critical thing and the status of foreign research. At the same time, critical thinking, as a human rational thinking, which has close ties of other ways of thinking needs to be clarified its relationship with other ways of thinking, in particular, the relationship between logical thinking and innovative thinking. In addition, as a applicable thinking which has a tremendous application in the real world, the study reviewing of its teaching and the popularity of the situation is also very important. Further, for the country is lagging behind in teaching and research status, to promote the development of critical thinking education, we need to clarify the relationship between critical thinking and logic and to explore the relationship between contemporary Chinese Critical Thinking and Quality-oriented Education, also logic courses reform, and introspect the current domestic teaching of critical thinking.
