This is a translation project report whose source text is the first chapter of Fluent Forever: How to Learn Any Language Fast and Never Forget It, a thorough and modern guide to learning new languages, written by Gabriel Wyner who speaks six languages fluently. It’s an effective language-learning guidebook about how to learn language fast and efficiently, a profusion of language-learning tools, resources and programs putting all of the new methods together compatibly. This translation report briefly introduces the research background, intended goal and significances of translation. Meanwhile, it also gives information about the author and the source of the original text, summarizes difficulties(the comprehension of hyphenated compounds, handling of italicized parts, translation of explanatory notes within brackets and the understanding of supra-long sentences) confronting translation work through a detailed analysis of the source text, and apply relevant translation methods such as amplification, annotation, and splitting and adjustment. Additionally, some experience and lessons have been drawn by translating the original text.
