With the series of appalling construction accidents, construction ethics, as onereason leads to those accidents, has been brought into the public spotlight. During theconstruction process, not only are the engineers required expertise, but also did theirethics. Engineers should scrutinize the impacts to natural environment and socialfarewell done by the construction project. And also they have to weight thesophisticated economic interest against the pure moral standard. Typically, theeducation shapes the ethics of engineers, especially the university education, whichsubstantially effects the value and ethic belief of its recipients.Unfortunately, there are several drawbacks in university education ofconstruction ethics, which, in turn, undermine the quality of the education results.This paper states the results from surveying a few of engineer institutes in Wuhanarea and comparing with previous references, concludes the issues from macro-andmicro-perspectives, and provides the potential solutions to improve, with the hopethat slightly advance the study of college education of construction ethics.In this paper, Chapter1explained the background of this study and reviewed currentstage of researches in this field. Chapter2introduced several theories and theimportance of college education of construction ethics. In Chapter3, paper presentedthe results of survey and concluded the education problems of construction ethics are:little awareness of construction ethics education; no feasible ethics education systems;vague of education purpose; lack of education methodology and related resources.Chapter4offered the solutions and roadmap those problems: increase theawareness of construction ethics, including the quality, safety and responsibility;design and complete a effective system to ensure the execution of ethics education;innovate the teaching methodology to put academic theory into practice; suffice theneeds of ethics education.
