At the study of the linguistic field, pragmatics belongs to an interdisciplinarysubject of the linguistics which focuses on studying how human understand themeaning of conversation in a particular context. With the development of theeconomy and the society, the study of the language is not confined to the languageitself, but change into different states: from micro to macro, from individual tosystematic, from purely language to actual oral language use. The cooperativeprinciple and the politeness principle are the important theories of the pragmatics use.The politeness principle is the complementary development of the cooperativeprinciples. The study of the combination of cooperative principles and politenessprinciple contributes a lot for the pragmatics research.The World Economic Forum is also called the Davos Forum which is anindependent intercultural non-governmental organization. With the development ofthe global economy, the issues that the Davos Forum concerns are not limited to theeconomic, however, the political, military, and social problem also brought in thediscussion agenda. The conversation records in Davos Forum can be therepresentatives in the intercultural communication study. The analysis of politenessprinciple and the cooperative principle in the conversation records can be veryinstructive in the way of finding the methods and reasons that people use in theintercultural communication.Based on the analysis of the conversation that in intercultural communication,the cooperative principle and the politeness principle have different effects on theunderstanding of the conversation to the people, to find out the use in particularcontext is very instructive.
