A Phonetic Study On Wuxuan Zhuang Dialect

Zhuang language is mother tongue of Zhuang ethnic which is the mostpopulation minority in our country, and is belong to Tai-Kadai Languages under Sino-Tibetan. Zhuang language is divided into South and North dialects in the basis ofdifference between pronunciations and lexical, and each dialect is subdivided into anumber of smaller dialects mainly according to phonetic feature. Wuxuan dialect ofwhat this article is study belongs to Hongshui River dialect under the North dialect.This article organizes phonetic system of Wuxuan dialect that building on fieldinvestigation, and compares it with primitive Tai language and standard Zhuanglanguage on the lay of both history and present. Describing and explaining Wuxuandialect’s phonetic system systematically, summarizing regional feature andpronunciation evolution rules of phonetic system.Chapter one is a brief introduction of distribution and characteristic of Zhuangethnic and Zhuang language, research status of Zhuang language at present, humangeology, population and language using of Wuxuan County along with method, targetand significance of this paper.Chapter two is organization and summarization on initial consonant, syllablerime and tone of Wuxuan dialect.Chapter three to chapter five is comparison on phonetic system. Wuxuan dialectwill be compared with primitive Tai language and standard Zhuang on the lay of bothhistory and present.Characteristic of initial consonant, syllable rime and tone thesethree factors will be discussed separately.Conclusion part summarizes characteristic and evolution rules of phonetic ofWuxuan dialect, and points out some problems deserve study and demand promptsolution.
