What is worth mentioning, the experiences ofimmigrants manifest the features of uncertainty, unknown, adventure, mobility andnon-normality. Essentially speaking, they are in accordance with the factors of “legend”.homoorganicity is found between them. In the process of any trans-cultural ortrans-regional immigration or traveling, the immigrants might encounter with thisunavoidable problem: the friction, conflict, and contradiction in the communication anddialogue among different cultures. With the bicultural or multi-cultural impacts, theself-identity of the immigrants tends to be multiple, complex, and blended. Thediscussion starts from the text of “legendary narrative”, as the external feature ofliterature and focuses on the core concept that penetrate in the promotion of the newimmigrant literature of North American. It’s the recognition, understanding and thinkingof the new immigrants on their “identity”(legal/physical identity, self/group identity,cultural/spiritual identity) after an important life experience to resettle overseas.
