The thesis is based on a novel-Heads in Beds which mainly narrates all the things theauthor, Jacob Tomsky, saw and heard while working as a front desk agent in a hotel. Basedon the characteristics of the novel, the thesis mainly discusses novel translation from theperspective of skopos theory. Skopos theory points out that the purpose of translation is thedecisive factor in translation. There are three basic principles in skopos theory including theskopos principle, fidelity principle and coherence principle. The thesis examines the threeprinciples through typical examples in the translation of this book. |
