A Study On Modern Aesthetic And Cultural Value Of Lomo Photography

From the basic concept of LOMO photography, the rise of LOMO photography,LOMO photography history of development, present situation and spreading in China,this paper displayed and discussed the development process of LOMO photography andbecome a necessity in today’s society fashion trends. We discussed the technical featuresof LOMO photography, including performance of the LOMO camera and special effectstaken technology. Then discussed the aesthetic of LOMO photography, highlighted theimprovisation of aesthetic characteristics of LOMO, which different from the traditionalaesthetic. And we found and studied the cultural value of LOMO photography and themodern cultural significance. We objectively reviewed the distinction betweentraditional photography and digital photography in a comparative manner. They vary inareas such as imaging principle, expressions. Finally, we argued the superiority ofLOMO photography in a sense and irreplaceable in the digital age. We achieved the aimof exploring the aesthetic value and carried forward the LOMO photography. On anartistic level, LOMO photography is old-fashioned, with characteristics of the modernvisual art of photography aesthetics and visual culture. Technically, the LOMOphotography is still a context of traditional photography: the camera was born in theSoviet Union, the photosensitive material is a chemical emulsion (film), productionprocess is still traditional-develop and print. However, the colors of the LOMOphotography images are crazy and irregularities, you can’t meet them in traditionalphotographic aesthetic evaluation standards. In the end, the papers were in-depthreflections on the future development of LOMO photography. We reached theconclusion that we should not ignore universal and aesthetic achievements in diversityof LOMO photography. On the other hand, we should also recognize that there still inthe early stages of development of the LOMO photography there is still a long way togo.
