Beau champ’s four principles of biomedical ethics is a representative approach in contemporary applied ethics. Because of its simple connotation and convenient operation, principles are widely used in modern medical practice and other areas of society. But since the principlism was proposed, it has been criticized in the academic circles. Several questions were raised about the principle approach which combined many different even competing theories into four principles and resulted in the moral dilemmas in medical practice. For example, Gert and Clouser questioned that the principles were not systematically related and the theoretically disconnection led to the practically misleading. Beauchamp Responses that principles are necessary to resolve the practical dilemmas and actually they don’t need to be systematically related. But Beauchamp has not found the way to resolve the practical problems of principlism.
