Comparison Of Time And Space Art Between Chinese And Western Classical Narrative Tradition

It has a long history of narrative tradition between China and the west countries,which can be traced back to the myths and legends respectively. Later, in the processof the development of the western literature, there were a lot of classic works aboutnarrative literature. Time and space is an important part in narrative theory. Due todifferences of cultural background, Chinese and western classical literature aredifferent techniques in time and space artistic processing. Time and space are twoways for human beings to recognize the world. To some extent, human being is theexistence of time and space. Therefore, it has always been the important contents forliterary creation to perceive the time and space, to think and express. The essence oftime perception actually reflects the human’s understanding of itself and the socialhistory; Human’s space understanding can reflect human’s perception, identity and therelationship between itself and the outside world. Because of the important part oftime and space, the space-time processing in literary art is particularly critical. Soduring the work creation, the processing of time and space occupies very importantposition. They all like many horizontal lines and vertical lines, organizing thestructure of the literary creation. There are many different aspects between Chineseand western classical narrative about time and space art. As the narrative theoriesgradually flourishing in China in recent years, the study of classical Chinese literaturenarrative about time and space art grows increasing, but the comprehensive analysisarticles about the differences between Chinese and western art of narrative time andspace are quite insufficiency. On the basis of the unique perspective of the art ofnarrative time and space, this thesis will combine the narrative theory with thecomparative literature methods to make analysis and comparison about creationtechnique between Chinese and western classical literature.This article is divided into three chapters, including more than30,000words.
