In this paper, we choose film and television jargon as the research object.Adoptthe way that have analysis of quantitative and qualitative.We most focus on thephenomenon of metaphor and metonymy in film and television jargon, analyszeingthe composition of metaphor and metonymy source,types,mechanism and function.The metaphor and metonymy in the film and television jargon, from the eye ofcomposition source,metaphor words come from Chinese words,loanwords,dialectwords,Hong Kong and Taiwan community words and other professionalterms;metonymy words mainly come from Chinese word, Hong Kong,Taiwancommunity words and loanwords.The types of metaphor in film and televisionjargon,including bearing metaphor, structural metaphor and metaphor of ontologythree types. Types of metonymy, mainly from based on the language forms the basisof metonymy and based on the basis of the concept of metonymy two aspects todivide metonymy ‘s types。Looking from based on language form the basis ofmetonymy， thumbnail process of words，such as abbreviation and numerals eclipsisof the film and television jargon, actually is part metonymied as a whole. Lookingfrom based on the concept on the basis of metonymy，the film and television jargonhave domain, events, actions domains three cognitive domain metonymyphenomenon。From the psychological mechanism analysis of generation，metaphor isbased on the similarity，also similarity principle and good continuation principle ofthe gestalt principle; Metonymy is based on the correlation,also prominence principleand proximity principle of the gestalt principles.The phenomenon of metaphor and metonymy in the film and television jargon,on the one hand it reflect the economic function and rhetorical function oflanguage,broaden the meaning of the original words as also as adding iconicity andrefining for language;On the other hand it is also convenient for people toacknowledge abstract concept.
