Research On Y.T. Wu ’s Thought Of Theology Before1931

When the Qing dynasty is passing by and beginning of Ming Guo, during this period, Chinesesociety changed a lot,which went through centries to times. Wu Yaozong, the liberal Christian theologicalthinker,whose Christian theology was quite different from other thinkers of that age, is in a more strongersociety caring and patriotism. The year1931, is the very important year for Wu Yaozong forming hisChristian theology and leading his whole life long. And in this paper, author aims to study Wu Yaozong inthe special age,1931, to highlight the influnce that time and society issues that he solved urgely. This isquite different from other scholars who only study Wu Yaozong’s Christian theology.In this paper, starting from analyzing Wu yaozong’s life and the Christian’sorigins, people can find Wu yaozong’s rough experience from entrenched feudal society to the Christian, which shows an intellectual’s attitude towards Christian from suspicion to conversion and his extraordinary life pursuit of devoting himself to the Christian. Secondly, by clarifying the main content of Wu Yaozong’s theological thought-view of??God and view of Jesus, finds that a clear main line has been always hiddenin his theological thought. From cosmology and philosophy of life, people can realizethe God and prove the existence of God, and thus make reconciliation between God and social popularity of “science”,“materialistic”. Meanwhile, God is love. Jesus demonstrated this principle of love, and than became the incarnation of truth. The ideal lifestyle is to pursue the principle of love. Then people can save society, and reach the heaven that love would be realized on so-called earth. This kind of understanding towards Christian also reflects Wu Yaozong’s rational theological thought and “demystification”. What is more, by the carding of theological thought sources-Pacifism activity and Social Gospel Activity, reflecting Wu Yaozong’s unique system in building his own theological thought, that is, the principle of love throughout and spreading soc ial gospel. All these above reveal the contextualization, practicality and society ofWu Yaozong’s theological thought, thus forming a unique Christian thought.Wu’s theology is easily accepted by chinese society, that without westen culture on basic, whichis also significant to today’s moden life. More important he formed a new Christian, dropped all theelements away that could blocking social development. In a word, that’s to say Wu Yaozong is a foresightmodel, who love his country and his religion.
