Don DeLillo is one of the most distinguished and the most influential writers ofcontemporary American literature,and he is known as one of the four majorcontemporary American novelists. Death is one of the important themes in DeLillo ’sliterary creation;it is also to study the creation of one of its perspective.Highlightingthe theme of death and unique narrative style is not only closely associated withDeLillo personal life experiences,and he lived post-modern America socialenvironment are closely related. Throughout the current research, study abroad mostfocused on its post-modern characteristics of the novel, the theme of death studiedoccasionally visible, although there are some studies on the theme of death, butmostly concentrated in DeLillo interim masterpiece work "White noise,".In thiscontext, the paper text reading through different periods of DeLillo ’sworks,presented his works in the phenomenon of death, type of death, death,psychological refinement classification, multi-angle multi-level understanding of there-up the theme of death in modern society. Meanwhile, the paper uses narrativetheory to analyze the theme of death in the narrative level.This is better to researchDeLillo and his works.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is theintroduction. DeLillo describes the creation of the situation and research status athome and abroad,and account research direction.The second part describes thecreation narrative DeLillo death causes, mainly from DeLillo ’s upbringing, life anddeath, as well as its view of three aspects of the social environment in which toanalyze the creative. The third part introduces DeLillo novel theme of death, deathfrom cultural implication of consciousness, and death type of death to illustrate thetheme of the three aspects of the post-modern society,"death" of diversity.The fourthpart focuses on DeLillo novel postmodern narrative strategies.The last part is theconclusion.
