Gadamer’s idea is very abundant, he continued the views of Schleiermacher, Dilthey and Heidegger. He made the language of ontology as the starting point and with our living world as a focus.He reflection through the rational,made his Hermeneutics Philosophy pay more attention to our living word. His Hermeneutics Philosophy developed in the direction of Practical Philosophy eventually.Not only that, his Hermeneutic Philosophy broke the traditional Logos-ism’s on word of error status. Established the importance of the word in his Hermeneutics Philosophy. He is highlight the word, language characteristics and value.However, Gadamer didn’t think of himself as the only savior to word. He restored the status of the word by the priority of word in the language’s carrier and the importance of word in experience of hermeneutic. He acknowledged the importance of word but not belittle the spoken language, and hold a rational view on word. He showed us a relationship between word and spoken language and the relationship between word and life world. At the same time, he leaded people pay more attention to reflect on our real life, and deal with all kinds of trouble bravely in the current society which with the civilization of science and technology. He prompted us to struggle a more peaceful and a beautiful tomorrow.This paper based on Gadamer’s composition, attempted to ravel and demonstration the status of word in Gadamer’s hermeneutics.The first part describes the word position in Western philosophy and provide the necessary sight background to understand.The second part is mainly demonstration through the concepts of language materials and historical traditions and so on. As well as analysis the relationship between word and spoken language.Draw a conclusion of the word in the status of language is very important.The third part focused on the relation of the word and learning experience. As well as the word is how to play its role in our life experience. The fourth part mainly talk about the importance of Gadamer’s view of language of legalistic significance.
