Literary characterization refers to the relationship between reality and art artssymbol symbol referent, so the problem is the art of thinking literary characterizationsign a deal with the relationship between reality and artistic practice. Clues to thehistory of Western art from the point of view, the concept of literary characterizationhas gone through four stages, four stages of primitive stage, the classical stage, modernand post-modern stage stage. These four stages constitute a literary characterization fourtypical patterns, each of which constitutes a model of its historical context in which thedominant, unreflective understanding of art and artistic symbol symbols reality of thereferent the relationship between thinking mechanism.
