However, the ontology research of his novels remains to be developed. This paper tries to introduce spatial narrative theory into Zhang Chengzhi’s novel to deepen the study of Zhang Chengzhi’s novel research.To declare that "space" has been increasingly into more important position, the first chapter introduced the origin, development as well as the main theoretical achievements of spatial narrative theory. This also provides necessary theoretical support for the study of "space" in Zhang Chengzhi’s novels as below.Zhang Chengzhi’s novels impressed readers by his description of three districts’local conditions and customs as well as his comprehending of these areas. These three districts are:Inner Mongolia, Mount Tianshan and Loess plateau which have very important significance for him. The second chapter focuses on analysis the selection of main images when Zhang Chengzhi trying to construct the novels’entity space and to further explores the spirit connotation that the three entity space carries, combing out Zhang Chengzhi’s changes in the spiritual level. The third chapter mainly studies the techniques and methods when Zhang Chengjian constructing the novels’entity space and spiritual space. Focus on analysis the selection of the images and the use of the technique, the shaping ways of the personalities of the characters, reduced the distance between writer and readers with the dialogue mode of" you&me", recounting method of strengthening the space. The fourth chapter summarized the value of Zhang Chengzhi’s structure of "space" from the aspects of aesthetic experience and cultural signification to state the aesthetic feeling the readers get from Zhang Chengzhi’s "space" and the concept of value that disclosed from the works.
