Tradition And Present Situation Of Inner Mongolia’s Yatog From The View Of Performance

Yatog (Mongolia Zheng), popular in the court of Yuan Dynasty, which was widely circulated that the lower Russian Volga River reaches in Kalmyk Autonomous Republic of Mongolia, Inner Mongolia, Mongolia Autonomous County Qian-Gorlos of Jilin Province, and Fuxin Mongolia Autonomous County of Liaoning Province, now it is popular in the Inner Mongolia’s Xilin Gol, Erdos area.It has long history and beloved by the Mongolia people.This paper focus on the performance of Yatog after the middle period of Qing Dynasty in Inner Mongolia area. I adopted recording and reconstruction methods to research the performance of Yatog in Xilin Gol and Erdos regions. On the one hand, in view of the present Xilin Gol yatog performance characteristics, I summarized the performing experiences of myself; on the other hand, facing the lost Erdos yatog, I was analyzing and reconstructing the system of performing based on the previous recordings. At the same time I summarized the literatures about the development of yatog before mid-Qing Dynasty, the characteristics and development status of contemporary yatog art is also discussed.In the paper there are three chapters which called "The historical data of yatog art"、"The traditional Yatog art"、"The contemporary Yatog art" based on the different periods. Facing the long historical and ethnic instrument I want to making comprehensive study on it.
