Richard· Wagner (1813-1883), who is the master who has the real significant of reform in the history of opera. He makes the stage become the central of individual. In a sense, Wagner was the first musician who attempted to rely his personal idea to change the taste of appreciation from others. On the other hand, Verdi also devoted his work at the reform of opera, but it was still surround the opera itself. However, Wagner established a kingdom of Opera. And he was the king who dominated everything. That is why he was not so modest like Verdi. For his peers, the harsh and indifferent personality made him unlike ordinary people. So this leaded to his greatness.《Tannhauser》,Wagner’s earlier work, was finished when Wagner was31. In term of connotation of scripts and music processing, it was simpler than《Lohengrin))and((Tristan&Isolde》.The thesis includes introduction and main part. The introduction part mainly discusses the design of this study. Main parts include the following aspects:The first is Wagner’s life and the creation background. The second is the thoughts of his creation idea and the feature of the opera music. And the third is the brief introduction the story of 《Tannhauser》 and the analysis of the role of wolfram. The last part is the analysis of wolfram’s two arias and their translation of each word.
