Crying is the result of extreme emotions,and is also a kind of social behavior evolved with interpersonal communication and social adaption.Compared to adulthood, it pays more visits to childhood,which is concluded from our daily experiences.To preschool children, crying can purify their emotions,indicate their needs and be their particular way of communications. What kind of characteristics do the crying of5-6-year-old kids has? What are the conditions and the origins of it? And how do teachers react to it? These are the problems that the researcher plan to slove to reveal the veil of the crying of5-6-year-old children in kindergarten.Selecting the senior preschool children as targets,this study mainly use methods of observation and literature consultation and base on the combination of qualification research and quantification research.Illustrated by two classes of5-6-age in Nanjing the results are:First,sexual differences exist in the crying behavior,which is mostly due to the different ways of educate two sexes.The key elements of crying behavior are people evolved and situations leading to crying.According to people evolved in the interaction, the crying behavior of the5-6-year-old children can be classified as three kinds:the crying behavior of the peer interaction,the crying behavior of the Teacher-to-Child interaction and the crying behavior of Child-to-Self interaction.These three types have their own subsets which are classified by situations of incidents.Situations that lead the crying behavior of the peer interaction respectively are infringement of body,infringement caused by language,infringement of real property and alienation of relationship.Situations that lead to the crying behavior of the Teacher-to-Child interaction respectively are separation from group rights,criticizing and threatening.Situations that lead to the crying behavior of Child-to-Self interaction respectively are the discomfort of body,the loss of belongings,the evocation of terrible memory and the pressure of study.According to the reaction of teachers to crying behavior,the results of teachers’ intervention can be classified as negative results,neutral results and positive results,which are effected be the concepts and strategies of teachers.Based on the analysis,the researcher make some recommendations to teachers when they deal with children’s tears,namely set the child-centered concept and help child to develop their own ability in dealing with depressions.
