| This study onã€chu fei〞andã€zhi you〞belongs to the contrast andinvestigation on synonyms in Modern Chinese. In terms of linguistics, this study isjust a piece of cake, but it has such a special meaning that it will contribute to thestudy of language and its application.This paper chooses800ã€chu fei〞andã€zhi you〞complex sentences fromCCL for analysis, which includes400contemporary and400ancient Chinesesentences. Based on the subjectivity of Langacker and the subjectification ofTraugott, the discussion of the different subjectivity ofã€chu fei〞andã€zhiyou〞starts from Cognition, Synchronic and Passage Aspects.The first chapter is an introduction, mainly introducing the research object, theintention of this study, the previous relatively research achievements andshortcomings. Besides, this introduction also establishes on the proofs and methodsof this article.The second chapter is a contrast ofã€chu fei〞andã€zhi you〞fromSynchronic. In this part, I conduct my research by contrasting the different flexibilityof sentence orders, the different occurrence rate of subjectivity markers in sentences,the different negation of the condition, and the different combination with causal andtransitional markers. From these contrasts I get a conclusion thatã€chu fei〞ismore subjective thanã€zhi you〞. Then I describe and analyze the differencebetweenã€chu fei〞andã€zhi you〞to know their usage is influenced by the different subjectivity.The third chapter is seeking the source of subjectivity from Dischronic. In thispart, the paper tells youã€chu fei〞andã€zhi you〞have two different subjectiveroutes.The fourth chapter discusses the different functions ofã€chu fei〞andã€zhiyou〞as linkage, focus, discourse markers in passage. These discussions furtherproves the meaning ofã€chu fei〞is more empty thanã€zhi you〞andã€chufei〞is more subjective thanã€zhi you〞.The fifth is a conclusion. We sum up the main conclusion thatã€chu fei〞ismore subjective thanã€zhi you〞and point out the new findings and thedeficiencies of this paper. |
