The considerable development of positive psychology and organizationalbehavior accelerates the birth and application of psychological capital and itscorrelation theoires. As it pays close attention to man’s positive psychological qualityand potency, psychological capital receives increasingly attention. Past researches onpsychological capital most focus on the organizational level and children as the mainforce of the future development, should get high attention.Taking the children who study in primary school, junior high school and seniorhigh school rfom the minority areas in Guizhou and Shanghai as the research objectfor the first time, comparatively comprehensive and intensive survey on psychologicalcapital is administered by using questionnaires to nine schools and2177children.Data analysis is conducted using SPSS21.0sotfware and the current situation anddifferences of the psychological capital in the two places are explored and analyzed topropose the solutions and suggestions on children’s psychological capitalconstruction.The result shows that:1.In general, the psychological capital of the children rfom the minority areas inGuizhou has no signiifcant difference with the psychological capital of the Hannationality children rfom Shanghai. But rfom the specific perspective of sixdimensions, except self-confidence and optimism, children rfom the two places doexist signiifcant difference in the aspect of gratefulness, prospect, cooperation,tenacity, etc. The psychological capital of the children rfom Guiyang and Shanghaidoes not have significant difference, but Guizhou have obvious advantage in theaspect of prospect, tenacity, self-confidence and optimism, while the children rfom thetwo places have no obvious difference in gratefulness and cooperation.2.On the whole, children of ethnic minorities and Han nationality children haveno significant difference on their psychological capital. From the perspective of sixdimensions, they have no statistical significance in self-conifdence, while statisticalsignificance exists in the rest dimensions which are gratetfjlness, prospect,cooperation,optimism and tenacity.3.Overall, female psychological capital is superior to the male. Significantdifference exists in the dimension of prospect between the female and male, while nosignificant difference exists in the dimension of gratefulness, cooperation, optimism,tenacity and self-confidence.4.The total psychological capital of the children from junior high school issuperior to the children rfom primary school and senior high school. From theperspective of six dimensions,they have no statistical signiifcance in dimensions ofoptimism and tenacity, while they have statistical signiifcance in the rest fourdimensions which are prospect, gratefulness, cooperation and self-confidence.This study tries to extend the psychological capital to the group of children byexploring the regional difference,nationality difference, gender difference and developmental difference of childrens psychological capital, and obtains thepreliminary results, hoping to generate some enlightenment and improvement for theresearch and development of children’s psychological capital in family, school andcommunity.
