| Being the first of China’s seven ancient capitals, Xi’an has its particular character and uniqueness. The long history of being the capital city leaves it abundant cultural heritage remains. The large number of cultural heritage continues the feature of Xi’an as an famous historical city, and it is also a rare resource of the city’s economic development. Over the past decade, as the attention people put on the protection of cultural heritage increases and the expansion and upgrading of the construction of cultural industry system begins, some characteristic historical heritage region of unique feature and big influence appeared in Xi’an, making a contribution to the preservation of heritage as well as the development of the city. Therefore, how to balance the heritage conservation planning and the development of cultural industries becomes the key issue that needs the attention. And it is quite meaningful to study the relationship between cultural industries and the development of heritage conservation planning. This paper uses a comprehensive study of the theoretical literature, comparative analysis, field surveys, and other research methods to study the relationship between the two under the guidance of the basic theory of heritage conservation planning.This paper is composed of five chapters:the first chapter describes the sources, background, purpose and meaning of the subject, and also explains the basic idea of the paper. The second chapter includes the theory and literature materials of the development of cultural industries and cultural heritage preservation in related fields. It also did a research on the views and opinions of the scholars on the subject while collecting outstanding paths of foreign heritage preservations, providing a basis for further research. The third chapter studies the existing cases in Xi’an from the aspects of the timing of development, spatial structure, land use, protection and management, economic benefits and others. Through the analysis of four examples of "Darning Palace National Heritage Park conservation planning ","Emper Qin’s Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum Planning"," regional renovation and planning of Big Wild Goose Pagoda ruins " and "Qu jiang new region planning", the paper explores the process of their development and gets the result of four types of relations between cultural industries and heritage preservation planning which are "convergence","attached development","interactive development " and " isolated development ". The fourth chapter discusses the diversity of cultural heritage value in contemporary urban context and takes the heritage background into an evaluation factor. It mainly uses the Delphi method and the EVA method to evaluate the comprehensive value of the heritage for the purpose of getting the conclusion of whether a place is suitable for cultural industry development or what type of cultural industries is appropriate. The fifth chapter puts the theory into practice, elaborating the idea of Xi’an capital site planning and exploring the relationship between the cultural industries development and the spatial patterns of cultural heritage preservation planning. It also plans the building of cultural activities in the planning area, envisaging the establishment of a cultural region. |
