This is a translation report based on chapter one of Establishing Self-Access FromTheory to Practice. The translated text of the report falls into the category of academicresearch work, therefore, it presents some examples and cases about English teachingmethod around voice, grammar, passage and so on. The texts have been classified intothree types by Peter·Newmark, ie. the expressive texts, the informative texts, and thevocative texts. According to Newmark’s classification of texts, the original text is aninformative one, which is applicable for “Communicative Translation Theory”. That isto say, translators should take the readers into first consideration. This report can bedivided into four parts. The first part is an introduction to translation project, includingtranslation requirement, objectives, and its significance. The second part is anintroduction to the process of translation. The third part is an analysis of cases. Therelationship between source language and the Communicative Translation Theory isintroduced at first. And the latter part is an introduction to how some difficulties aresolved under the guidance of Communicative Translation Theory. The fourth part is a summary. In this summary, translation experiences and lessons have beensummarized, and some unsolved problems have been put forward. Since the third partcontains many cases and analyses, it is the core content of this report. |
