“The four famous ministers in the Southern Song Dynasty”(referred to as "Thefour famous ministers")refers to Li Guang,Li Gang, Zhao Ding, Hu Quan who werefamous in political civil officials in two Song dynasties,they strongly advocated toanti-Jin, to make up lost ground resistance, to promote Song dynasty, they were fullof loyalty, patriotism. Meanwhile, they struggled fiercely with Qin Hui and othertraitor ministers who were cowardly and incompetent, bended and surrendered to Jin,they highlights steadfast in upholding and uprightness. The four famous ministerswere not only politicians, or thinkers, writers, especially in poetry, literature, Ci had acertain aspect of achievement. Based on the Ci of the four famous ministers as theresearch object, using literature analysis, mutual certificate of literature and history,quantity analysis method to analysis the Ci of the four famous ministers in theSouthern Song Dynasty, focusing on the content and artistic features of commonalityof Ci, the Ci’ uniqueness which were caused by some personalities of the four famousministers, and their Ci’value and status in the Southern Song Dynasty.The basic framework of this paper consists of an introduction, body andconclusion of three parts. Introduction discusses the origin of the designation of Thefour famous ministers in the Southern Song Dynasty, research status of theirCi,research significance and methods of the Ci.This text is divided into three chapters:the first chapter mainly focuses on the common property of the four famousministers and their Ci,Part I of this chapter summarizes three commonalities consistof the rough life experiences, personality spirit of loyalty, political advocates argueagainst Jin. Part Ⅱ induction the common theme in the content of Ci, concerned aboutthese aspects of affairs of life,emotion consigns by chanting things,as reward and soon. Part Ⅲ discusses the art of generality, they succeed the road which pioneered theword "poetry " that started by Su Shi, using the content of the poem, theme, moodinto Ci, the extensive use of the title preface, to narrow the distance between Ci andpoetry,improved the style status of Ci.The second chapter, respectively in this paper, the four famous ministers andtheir uniqueness. PartⅠanalysis of Li Guang’ ideology contain Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism, then, analyzed emphatically on the Connotations of Buddhismand Taoism in his Ci;Part Ⅱdiscusses about Li Gang,who read a lot of historybooks,good at using ancient theory to express his opinions with his unique historical perspective. And his Ci which chanted Historical allusions and United Chapter Ci;Part Ⅲ section combining information discussed Zhao Ding who seemed steadfast inupholding politically, psychologically with emotions, sentimental character. ThenAnalysis the gentle style of Zhao Ding’ Ci which written in his early age, and late Cifull of rural customs of thinking; Part Ⅳ discusses Hu Quan respected Su Shi’spersonality and literary, Part II Analysis the broad-minded style of Hu Quan’Ci andthe changing of the style.The third chapter mainly examines the status and value of the Ci of the fourfamous ministers from both horizontal and vertical dimensions. The first part from thevertical dimension, the four famous ministers play the role of continuity between SuShi, Xin Qiji, but their Ci cannot do better than Su and Xin’s. Part II starting from thehorizontal dimension, compared the four famous ministers’Ci with the Ci of Da Shengcomposer of Ci poetry and vulgar writer,we could found that the Ci of the FourFamous Ministers have high character.The conclusion summarizes its entirety and noted the Ci of the four famousministers achieved a profound impact on the composer of Ci poetry in Southern SongDynasty.
