A Study On TV Series’ Titles In The Perspective Of Linguistics

Nowadays, the market share and popularity competition between all different propaganda approaches is more and more fierce. However, TV media is still the most popular one. TV series’titles are playing an important role in manifesting the TV program’s flavor and acquiring audience’s support. This thesis attempts to grasp the internal features of Chinese TV series’titles from the linguistics’perspective by analyzing the uniqueness of expression effects in Chinese TV series. This research has the creativity in a certain sense.This paper chooses following four common aspects of Chinese TV series’titles: Phonetics, Vocabulary, Grammar and Rhetoric. The thesis, from linguistic perspective, discusses the intrinsic characteristics of Chinese TV series’titles by using2680TV series’titles as a database and the new characteristics a starting point. This paper was designed to three parts in total.The first part is a brief introduction. It introduces the purpose of this study and the research of preceding studies. By wording on this investigation, we have find that there are still some areas receiving little attention and problems which need to be worked out. This part also includes the theories and methods of the research.The second part analyzed the appearance and spirits of Chinese Language by specific model and Parataxis from opposite angles. Firstly, it analyzes the Phonetics features and ways of Chinese TV series’titles characteristic expressions. It highlights the regular pattern of Phonetics. Then it analyzes the Vocabulary flavor of TV series’titles characteristic and it analyzes the appearance of new vocabulary, especially the Internet vocabulary. The next part analyzed the unique Grammar expressions in Chinese TV series’titles and finally it conducts the contextual and preinstall analysis in the perspective of Pragmatics.The last part is a conclusion of this paper. And it also illustrates the theoretic and practical value of this study and raises issues that need to be further discussed.
