Research Of Contour Figurative Painting

Oil painting is a splendid treasure of the world’s art and culture. As the first steps of oil painting creation, laying contour always has different laying forms in different painters’pictures. By analyzing the expression of the contour line of the domestic and foreign excellent oil paintings of different periods and different genres, the great and profound spiritual philosophy and important significance of the laying contour in oil painting creative process has been clarified in this paper.This article has dicussed the role and significance of the contour in oil painting creative process through the study of the contour line of representational paintings. Contours, the starting point of all modeling, has great precious value and significance for oil painting. What’s more, the edge line of representational paintings is an intersection point of the artists’painting style, technique, observation method and form processing. It not only shapes the objects form dimension sense, but also contains the deep sense of perspective of the image space, the twist and cohesion of the form and structure, the form’s texture and lighting changes. The western oil industry has two systems in dealing with the contour. These two systems differ greatly in artists’ observation method. One is line drawing type which pays more attention to the sideline; the other one is painted type which weakens the sideline. Using the contour as the entry point to research the observation method of various painters still has important guiding significance for us to study and creation. This paper tries to reveal the painters’ observation methods and the internal culture causes by conducting a multi-faceted research on the sideline processing methods of several representational realism painters. This thesis is mainly divided into five parts.The first part,which is the introduction of the thesis, is constituted of the first and second chapter.In this part,the meaning of contour line in oil painting has been expounded,which makes a better understanding of contour line’s status and significance in representational painting creation.The third chapter makes up the second part of the thesis,which mainly talks about the processing method of the contour line.In this part,the relationship between contour line’s handling and the management of different color and light shadow has been expounded with the declaration of the impact on the artistic style.The third is mainly consisted of the fourth chapter.lt analyzes the emotional conveyance function of contour line through the analysisof the representative painters works,makeing this part become the central part.The fifth chapter forms the fourth part of the thesis.In this part,the author combines own painting experience making the conclusion of the contour line impact on the artistic style.
