The Conflict And Architecture Of Chinese Comsumption Ethic In Modern Age

The report to the18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC)pointed out:"Social harmony is the essential of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics." Therefore harmonious society calls for harmonious consumption.And the consumption can only be achieved by the construction of a harmonioussociety. On the other hand, it is because of the harmonious consumption that we havebuilt a harmonious society. Nowadays, with decades of rapid development, China hasbuilt a well-off society and moderately booming country, which means the harmonybetween people of all ethnic groups,but also the harmony between man andnature.Today, facing the problems of consumer behavior anomie, destruction ofecological resources and environmental pollution, not only do we have to build aharmonious consumer ethics from the aspects of ecology, justice, moderation andfreedom, but also regulate our life of faith, values and world views with the guidenceof philosphy of Marxism, to guide our behavior to protect the planet for survival ofhumanity.The first chapter mainly explains the theoretical basis of consumer ethics. Brieflydiscusses the consumer ethics and its cases between China and Western countriesbasing on the concept of consumer and the semantic changes.The second chapter analyzes the contemporary ethical conflicts in China. Thischapter focuses on the conflicts between alienation,insufficient of consumption andconsumer freedom, then analyzes the problems of fairness between intra-generationsand intergererations because of the excessive consumption. Meanwhile, this chapteralso makes an analysis of the dilemma between the limited resources of nature andhuman’s insatible desire.The third chapter advocates adopting the eco-consumption patterns to achieveharmony between man and nature by the methods of practical application of theory. At the same time, we should try to promote the moderate rational cunsumption toachieve the consistence of consumer freedom and responsibility. Besides, it’s urgentto establise and improve the social security system to gain the fairness between theintergenration and intra-generation. Finally, establishing harmonious concept ofconsumption is to realize free and full-development of human happiness.
