Retention And Memory As Two Kinds Of"Past" Consciousness

Hussel claimed two different consciousness of the same "Past"charactristics in the book "Phenomenology of the Consciousness of Internal Time", one is "Retention",the other is "recollection".However,both of them are the consciousness that is always in"Present"."Retention" consciousness can be regarded as Modification of originary impression,so it has original characteristic of past.recolletion,as the representation of "Past thing",has important relationship with "Retention".In this dissertation,the writer try to apply Hussel’s"phenomanology’s method" to discuss retention and recollection by describing the photos and texts,in order to understand the intentionality of them and explore contacts of these two intention. The first part of the dissertation mainly discuss Retention,more presisely,it discuss Maintainess of given originary impression’s modification and construction of present domain;The second part analys source,construction and the phenomenen of its modification,and show the relationship between recolletion and retention;The last part summarizes the difference and contact of them,finding why Hussel compares retention with recolletion.
