| In this thesis, Clarinet Concerto by Lindberg is studied from the perspective of pitch, rhythm, structure, texture, timbre and instrumentation;later characteristics of composition techniques and thoughts of Lindberg in this work are analyzed, i.e. modern timbre and sound-thinking are integrated with classical melody writing, theme development and virtuosity of concertos.The thesis includes4chapters:In Chapter â… , an introduction of Lindberg and Clarinet Concerto is given; In Chapter â…¡, pitch organization of the melody is researched, including application of special scales and harmony "chain" skills;Chapter â…¢ researches evolution process of materials:construction of topic paragraphs, variation means of core materials, melody structure and its characteristics; Chapter â…£ studies molding techniques of sound:relations of voice parts&instrumentation layout, instrument selection&performing skills, and timbre allocation of materials&textures.In the conclusion part, composition techniques and thought characteristic of Lindberg’ Clarinet Concerto are summarized, and this work is compared with other5counterparts in different era; finally, three conclusions based on this study are stated:firstly,"beauty" of melody is not necessarily irreconcilable with modern composition techniques that pursue reason; secondly, innovation does not indicate isolation from the past; thirdly, Lindberg held the classical principles in traditional composition skills throughout, making a combination and balance between contemporary factors and classical style. |
