Marx’s Cultural Production Theory And Its Contemporary Value

There is not much study on cultural production based on Marxism in academia.It was still in the stage of preliminary study. As a long time for various reasons,people ignored to research on cultural production on Marxism which caused certaindegree of loss to Marxism. Also, the lack of study resulted neglect on theoreticalguidance to contemporary cultural production. Within the rising of living quality,cultural production and cultural consumption have greater impact to both economicand society activity. This is the development request of the epoch. Thus, study onMarx’s theory of cultural production has important practical significance.This article examined the realistic background of Marx’s theory of culturalproduction. In both philosophical and economical aspect, this article sorts out thesource of Marx’s theory of cultural production. This source mainly comes from theidea of German classical philosopher political economist thinking about spiritualproduction. Especially the classical philosophers Hegel and Feuerbach,and theeconomist Adam Smith and Zaire. Based on this ideology, Marx criticized onirrational part along with absorption and development of the essence part. Study ofMarx’s theory of cultural production is the basis of historical materialism. It alsosystematic exposed the ideological context in formation, development and deepeningperiod.This article focuses on fundamental of Marx’s theory of cultural production.The ideologies relatively to cultural production in this article are sorted out fromMarx’s both philosophy and economic theory. In philosophy aspect, the relationbetween cultural production, material production and production of human being hasbeen analyzed. Also, this article study the development trends on future society and discourse the reasons that why Marx’s theory of cultural production is not takenseriously in academia. From the economic point of view, this paper analyzed theMarx’s study of cultural production. The culture of the world development trend ofproduction, the trend of the capitalistic production after the commercialization ofculture, and its economic characteristics has been analyzed. At the same timeexplained why Marx’s theory of culture production got overlooked.In theoreticalc aspect, study on Marx’s theory of cultural production, there arenot only filled the gap on the theories of this field, but also to enrich and improve thesystem of marxist theory. It has significant meaning to enrich and improve Marxisttheoretical system. It also enhances vitality of Marxism. Moreover, and it has greatimpact to our current production and building of culture.
