Study On Protection And Inheritance Of Hanzhong Intangible Cultural Heritage From The Perspective Of Design

In recent years, the intangible cultural heritage protection is a hot topic oncultural heritage. Pepole all over the country are keen to show their own culturaltreasures through various forms. Especially, under the background of innovativecultural industries, the traditional static heritage protection has transformed into anew form with the combination of dynamic inheritance, which results in a newart form compromising traditional art and modern fashion.In the face of the rapid economic development in our country, the intangiblecultural reflecting the folk historical memory and life’s mark has been excavated,protected and is also vanishing considerably in the meanwhile. Whether theycould adapt to the new social environment or we should think about a newviewpoint of protection in order to achieve the sustainable utilization? Intangibleculture relying on certain ecological environment is the origin of the folk cultureand embodies the ideology and spirit pursuit of people’s life. It is therefore ableto provide plain and peace for the modern urban life.However, the progress ofmodernization makes people unable to adapt to the complete immersion in theatmosphere of traditional life style, but instead hope to establish a compromisedpsychological need between the tradition and modern. Thus, academics havelaunched intense argument between "ecological protection" and "inheritanceinnovation", and all have a well-founded view.Hanzhong city locates at the southwest of Shaanxi province and the south ofQinling mountains. The beautiful mountains and rivers give its abundant naturalresources, the historical records of Han dynasty and three kingdoms haveaccumulated a long history and culture, and the simple folkway writes theprecious folk customs.The protection and inherit of Hanzhong intangible cultural heritage is ofgreat significance to mining area characteristics culture. It can provide moreresources with cultural meaning and connotation to the development of tourismin order to further improve the status of the city，economic growth, and cultural industry.This article attempts to study the protection and inheritance ofHanzhong intangible cultural heritage from the perspective of design, arguingthat the combination of traditions and innovative development provides a properway to protect and inherit various categories of intangible cultural heritage ofHanzhong. Utilizing the methods such as the field investigation, literatureresearch, deductive reasoning, multidisciplinary cross, comparative analysis andetc, this paper summarizes the worldwide research status and has clarified thespread， the protection situation and the various existing problems throughstatistics and comb region distribution of intangible cultural heritage ofHanzhong to lay the foundation for the later proposal of protection strategy fromthe perspective of design. After a clear explanation for the existence of anecessary connection between the design and the protection of intangibleHanzhong, this article discusses the role of design in Hanzhong intangiblecultural heritage protection and analysis of the innovative design elements fromthe materialized external form of intangible and the invisible spiritual culturalparts. Finally, from the aspects of elements reconstruction and advertisingpromotion, we propose the protection and inheritance strategy of Hanzhongintangible cultural heritage from the perspective of design. This concept isillustrated with the case of the lamp shades making technology of Cai family inYang country which has been listed in the provincial protection level. Combinedwith the craftsmanship and artistic characteristics, as a traditional craftsmanshipwith evident regional features, it puts forward the innovative elements from themodel itself and design applications, supporting the strategy for the protectionand inheritance from the design in this article. The research aims to provide somereferences for protection and inheritance of Hanzhong and other areas’intangiblecultural heritage.Of course, the intangible protection can also see better prospects from otherviews, but the design is a broad field with close connections with people’s life.However, Hanzhong intangible cultural heritage is a picture of regional culture,folk production and life style, so its significance is self-evident when talkingabout the heritage protection from "design".
